A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.

8 days to go: A taste of the Force!
Star Wars has been used to promote food products since the very beginning. As a kid, I remember one of my favorite yogurt desserts was a Star Wars one. It always seemed to taste better when it had a Star Wars character on the packaging! This trend continued throughout the release of all of the movies. From breakfast cereals to ice cream, cookies to candy bars. I actually have some uneaten Star Wars chocolate bars in my collection from Marks & Spencers (a quality British retailer). I won’t be eating them anytime soon, as the ‘best by’ date was 2006!
