A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.

72 days to go: VHS or Betamax?
The growth of home video cassettes in the 1980s brought the opportunity to finally see the Star Wars movies at home over and over again. Return of the Jedi was the first ever pre-recorded movie I purchased. I can’t begin to count how many times I watched it. To this day I can still recall every line of dialogue. Since then, all the Star Wars movies have been re-released in multiple formats and I have bought them every time!
