A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.

78 days to go: I met Princess Leia!
Over the years I have had the privilege of meeting many of the cast from the Star Wars movies, mostly at conventions. When we lived in the UK it was relatively easy to meet them, especially as most of the cast from the original trilogy were British actors. I have since created my own Star Wars ‘Walk of Fame’. Meeting Carrie Fisher is still one of my most memorable encounters. She was extremely talkative, very funny and had a genuine interest in the fans.
