Although critically acclaimed by many as the best Star Wars movie, Episode V: ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ takes a respectable third place in my personal Star Wars movie ranking. This may come as a shock, but I never got to see The Empire Strikes Back until some years after the film was released. My favorite scene in the film is where Yoda uses the Force to lift Luke’s X-Wing Fighter out of the swamp on Dagobah following Luke’s failure to do the same. “I don’t believe it,” Luke states. “That is why you fail,” replies Yoda.
A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.
