A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.

32 days to go: A New Hope
Despite it being the film that started my lifelong passion for Star Wars, Episode IV: ‘A New Hope’ is only my second favorite Star Wars movie (so far), coming close behind Return of the Jedi. My favorite moment in the film is the opening sequence, when we first see Darth Vader as he enters the captured Rebel ship following a brief battle. I just love how he walks down the corridor with his cloak flowing behind him and the contrast against the white ship and the white Stormtroopers. Certainly one of the best entrances in any movie and to this day he remains one of the most iconic movie villains of all time.
