Over the years there have been many, many newspaper and magazine advertisements covering Star Wars toys, as well as multiple catalogues from retailers and manufacturers showing the latest ranges. I kept them all so that I could keep
track of what I had and what I hoped to have. As most children would do in the run up to Christmas, I would circle those
items in the catalogues that I most wanted, hoping Father Christmas would put them under the tree. Knowing I couldn’t have them all, I
would deliberate for weeks and weeks over my
selection, which was usually based on the one with the most play factor to it.
A Long Time Ago ... I became a Star Wars fan. My love for Star Wars was born when my father took me and my brother to see the original movie at the Regent Theatre in my home town, Great Yarmouth, in January 1978. I was 7 years-old. Needless to say, it made quite an impact on me. To celebrate The Force Awakens, I have created a 100-day countdown to its release. Using images from my collection, I will share my favorite memories of 35+ years of being a fan and collector of all things Star Wars.
